With the help of our world-renowned training scheme, there are many opportunities to upgrade to another level of membership as your ADR experience develops.

Membership categories

Use our Level Finder  to calculate which level of membership is best for your skills and experience. While you won’t be asked to state which membership level you are applying for when you complete the application form, it is important that you demonstrate enough experience and qualifications for us to find the right level for you. If you need a little more experience before joining, our level finder can help you work out which course you need to complete before applying for CIArb membership as well as which course you should take if you wish to upgrade to a higher level of membership.

We provide more details of each membership category here.

Upgrade and Fast Track

After joining CIArb, upgrading from Associate (ACIArb) to Member (MCIArb), or from Member (MCIArb) to Fellow (FCIArb), can be achieved through the CIArb training pathways, experience or qualifications.

Our Level Finder identifies the courses required to upgrade to the next level of membership. Details of all our courses are provided here.
